![]() ITunes works this way because it’s oriented to managing purchased items. There’s more info at their iTunes Store: Hiding and Unhiding Purchases page. In frustration I asked Apple Support about it, and they told me about this, so a big thank-you to them. I must admit that I didn’t figure this out myself. Click the (x) button at the top-left of the icon. You may need to click “All” to show the item. This shows all of your items, whether they are on your device or in your library or not. Find the “Quick Links” area of the store page, and click “Purchased”.In iTunes, go to the Store for the type of item you want to hide (such as Books, App Store), as if you were going to buy something.(I am assuming you have already deleted the unwanted item from your iTunes Library before beginning this.).The best you can do is hide the unwanted items. That’s by design, for the good reasons above. There’s no way to permanently remove items from iCloud. This is usually a good thing, enabling you to re-acquire the purchased item if you want to one day - after all, you bought it, you should always have access to it.īut what about cases where you are sure that you really truly never will want it again? Can’t you delete the item from iCloud so it does not show up in your library? It turns out that you can’t. It worked most of the time, but sometimes my texts mysteriously wouldn’t go through. My texts would go out only from my email account, not from my phone number. I had no idea that for a year my iPhone was only “half working” for iMessage. WIND’s position is that they don’t support iMessage on the iPhone, so I had to revert back to SMSs coming from my email address instead of my phone # to avoid getting charged. You see, the iPhone sends hidden “activation” SMSs to a couple of phone #s in the UK on an ongoing basis, and those cost me extra, so it was starting to run into $$$ (more). Update: I don’t recommend doing this now, unless you have an International SMS plan.
